Introduction

Some Non-Ahmadis allege that the Promised Messiah (AS) had a dream hat he was going to go to Delhi, so they allege that Promised Messiah(AS) did not go to Delhi after the dream

December 6, 1905
I saw in my dream that I had gone to Delhi and had returned safe. Then the revelation flowed from my tongue:

الحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَوْصَلَنِي صَحِيحًا

[Arabic] All praise belongs to Allah, Who has brought me safe

Masih Maud(AS): Test me on Minhaj-e-Nabuwaah(Precepts of Prophethood)

کوئی بھی اعتراض جو منہاج نبوت پر قرآن و حدیث کی روسے ہو ہم اس کا جواب دینے کو ہر وقت تیار ہیں ۔ ہر مدعی سے یہی ہوتا ہے کہ اس کے صدق دعویٰ کا ثبوت مانگا جاتا ہے ۔ سو ہم اس امتحان کے واسطے ہر وقت تیار ہیں ۔ بشرطیکہ منہاج نبوت پر ہو

Any allegation from the lens of Minhaj-e-Nabuwaah(Precepts of Prophethood) and Quran and Ahadith we are at every moment ready to respond. Every Claimaint’s True Claim’s Evidence is asked for. Thus we are always ready for this test, on the condition that it is on Minhaj-e-Nabuwaah(Precepts of Prophethood).

ایک مسلمان جو حقیقت میں مسلمان ہے اورسنت اللہ اور سنت رسول سے واقف ہے وہ ہمیشہ منہاج نبوت کو مدنظر رکھ کر ہی تحقیق کرے گا۔ ایسے لوگوں کے اعتراضات بہت تھوڑے رہ جاتے ہیں اور اس راستے کا بہت تھوڑا حصہ ان کے واسطے باقی رہ جاتا ہے اوراگر ایسا شخص ہے کہ اسے خود اسلام کے متعلق ہی شک وشبہات پیدا ہورہے ہیں اورابھی اس نے اسلام کی صداقت کا ہی فیصلہ نہیں کیا تو پھر ایسے لوگوں کے واسطے سلامتی کی کوئی راہ نہیں اور یہی ہیں کہ آخر وہ ہلاک ہوجاتے ہیں ایسے لوگ دراصل روحانی امور کے دشمن ہوتے ہیں ۔ ان میں ایک قسم کا کبر اور غرور ہوتاہے ۔ وہ لوگ اتباع کو عار سمجھتے ہیں ۔ یہ لوگ نئی روشنی میں بھی ہلاک ہوگئے مگر خدا کے آسمانی نور کو قبول نہ کیا۔ خداتعالیٰ کا ہمیشہ سے یہ قانون چلا آتا ہے کہ جب دنیا فسق وفجور اورگناہ سے پر ہوجاتی ہے اورہر قسم کے مفاسد دنیا میں پھیل جاتے ہیں تو خداتعالیٰ اپنی طرف سے ایک روحانی سلسلہ قائم کرکے زمانہ کی اصلاح کرتا ہے مگر وہ جو کہتا ہے کہ مجھے اس کی کیا ضرورت ہے گویا وہ خدا کے قانون کو بدلنا چاہتا ہے ۔ ایسے لوگوں سے تو یہ بھی خوف ہے کہ ایک دین اسلام سے بھی انکار کردیں اور یہانتک کہ خود خداکی ہستی کی بھی ضرورت محسوس نہ کریں یہ بڑی خطرناک راہ ہے کیونکہ جو حقیقی اورسچی راہ شناخت اسلام اوروجود باری تعالیٰ پر دلیل تھی ان لوگوں نے اسی سے روگردانی کرلی ہے ۔ اکثر ان میں ایسے پائے جاتے ہیں کہ معلومات وسیع کا دعویٰ کرتے ہیں مگر جاہل بلکہ اجہل ہوتے ہیں ۔ دین اورعلوم دینی سے ان کو مس بھی نہیں ہوتا۔

A Muslim, who is truly a Muslim who is aware of Sunnatullah and Sunat-e-Rasool he/she will always keep Minhaj-e-Nabuwaah [Precepts of Prophehood] in mind when doing research/investigation. These types of people only have a few allegations left and by following this path only very little remains to allege and if there is such a person who himself is being enveloped in doubts about Islam and he can not even make a decision on Islam’s truthfulness then for these people there is no path of peace/security and in fact these people are the enemies of spiritual affairs. There is a type of arrogance and pridefulness in them. For this people following (itiba) is a source of shame. These people even in new light will be destroyed for they did not accept God’s heavenly Noor. God’s continuous law has been that when the world has been envolped in Fisq, wickedness, and sin and every type of (mufasid) disorder spread into the land, then God sends from himself a spiritual Silsilah and establishes it which does the (islah) reformation of the time but those who say ‘what is the need of this?’ it is as if they want to change God’s law. For these types of people it is feared that they might altogether reject Islam and view the existence of God as not necessary, this is a very dangerous path because the true way and the reason of existence of God that Islam uncovers, these people have turned away from it. Majority of the cases you will find of these people who make the claim of having vast knowledge but rather they are not just jahil, but most jahil. You will find no sense of Deen and Deeni Ulūm in them.

There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers Allah often.

Quran 32:22

There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, “Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah . We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone” except for the saying of Abraham to his father, “I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah . Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination.

Quran 60:5

There has certainly been for you in them an excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day. And whoever turns away – then indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

Significance of this being a Dream

The fact that was a dream shows that dreams can be interpreted.

Hadith 1

 عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أُرَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ “‏ رَأَيْتُ فِي رُؤْيَاىَ أَنِّي هَزَزْتُ سَيْفًا فَانْقَطَعَ صَدْرُهُ، فَإِذَا هُوَ مَا أُصِيبَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، ثُمَّ هَزَزْتُهُ أُخْرَى فَعَادَ أَحْسَنَ مَا كَانَ، فَإِذَا هُوَ مَا جَاءَ بِهِ اللَّهُ مِنَ الْفَتْحِ وَاجْتِمَاعِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا بَقَرًا وَاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ، فَإِذَا هُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ‏”‏‏.‏

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I saw in a dream that I moved a sword and its blade got broken, and that symbolized the casualties which the believers suffered on the day of Uhud. Then I moved it again, and it became as perfect as it had been, and that symbolized the Conquest (of Mecca) which Allah helped us to achieve, and the union of all the believers. I (also) saw cows in the dream, and what Allah does is always beneficial. Those cows appeared to symbolize the faithful believers (who were martyred) on the day of Uhud.

Sahih al-Bukhari 4081

It is clear from this hadith that in a dream what is shown in apparent form is usually symbolism.

On the same page of Tadhkirah it states that Hazrat Khalifatul Maseeh Thani fulfilled this dream:

Note by Maulana Abdul Latif Bahawalpuri: Hadrat AmirulMu’minin Khalifatul Masih IIaba writes: After this revelation, the Promised Messiah(AS) did not go to Delhi. His last journey to Delhi was in 1905. Thus this revelation contained a prophecy that the person resembling him would travel to Delhi and people will hurl stones at him. I was the one, whom Allah has made to sit on the seat of the Promised Messiah(AS), and who was made the target of stones. But Almighty Allah decreed that He would bring him, namely his resemblance, back safely… The expression that ‘Who brought me safe’ indicates that there would be others who would suffer.

Hadith 2: The dream of Abu Jahl in Jannah in Heaven

رأيت فيما يرى النائم كأن عتاب بن أسيد أتى باب الجنة فأخذ بحلقة الباب فقلقلها قلقا لاً شديداً حتى فتح له فدخلها فأعز الله به الإسلام فنصرته للمسلمين على من يريد ظلمهم هذا

وفي تاريخ الأزرقي، أن النبي ﷺ قال : القد رأيت أسيداً في الجنة وأني أي كيف يدخل أسيد الجنة فعرض له عتاب بن أسيد فقال : هذا الذي رأيت ادعوه لي، فدعى له فاستعمله يومئذ على مكة، ثم قال يا عتاب أندري على من استعملتك ؟ استعملتك على أهل الله فاستوص بهم خيراً يقولها ثلاثاً».

فإن قيل : كيف يقول عن أسيد إنه رأه في الجنة ثم يقول عن ولد أسيد إنه الذي رآه في الجنة قلنا لعل عتاباً كان شديد الشبه بأبيه ،أسيد، فظن عتاباً أباه، فلما رآه عرف أنه عتاب لا أسيد

Seeratal Halabiyyah

The Dream of Hudaibiyyah proves that a Dream may be fulfilled at a time that is not the expected time or contrary to expectation

The following is an Abridged Summarized Paraphrased Translation by Hazrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad citing from As-Sīratun-Nabawiyyah by Abū Muḥammad ‘Abdul-Mālik bin Hishām

‘Umar jumped up and went to Abu Bakr saying, ‘Is he not God’s apostle, and are we not Muslims, and are they not polytheists?” to which Abu Bakr agreed, and he went on: ‘Then why should we agree to what is demeaning to our religion?’ He replied, “Stick to what he says, for I testify that he is God’s apostle.’ ‘Umar said, ‘And so do I.’ Then he went to the apostle and put the same questions to which the apostle answered, ‘I am God’s slave and His apostle. I will not go against His commandment and He will not make me the loser.’ ‘Umar used to say, ‘I have not ceased giving alms and fasting and praying and freeing slaves because of what I did that day out of fear for what I had said, when I hoped that (my plan) would be better.’

The Life of Muhammad pg. 504

Muhammad(SAW) in his life time did not see Ash-Shaam and Al-Faaris conquered even though he saw the keys given to him, rather they were fulfilled in the times of the Khulafa Rashideen al Mahdiyeen.

The Khulafa have fulfilled the prophecies for Muhammad(SAW)

Hazrat Muhammad(SAW) said he was given keys to Rome, Persia, and Egypt however in his lifetime this places were not conquered but rather they were conquered under the reign rightly guided Khalifa Umar ibn al-Khattab(R.A).

“Bismillah (In God’s name),” and hammered the boulder, reducing a chunk of it to rubble. He said, “Allāhu Akbar (God is Great)! I have been given the keys to Shām; I can see its red palaces at this very moment.” Then he shattered another chunk and said, “Allāhu Akbar (God is Great)! I have been given the keys to Persia; I can see Madain’s white palace.” Then he shattered the last chunk and said, “Allāhu Akbar (God is Great)! I have been given the keys to Yemen. By Allah, I can see the Gates of Sana‘a at this very moment from here.”

Conclusion

It is obvious that those who make this allegation, need to take a closer look at the Seerah of RasullAllah(SAW). Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(AS)’s prophecies, revelation, and dreams if looked at through Minhaj-e-Nabuwaah(Precepts of Prophethood) then we clearly see no issues!
